Syngonium 'Gold Butterfly' (YELLOW VARIEGATED, VARIEGATA AUREA or CALIFORNIA GOLD) is an aroid of the
Syngonium family, also known as “arrowhead plant” or “arrowhead vine” because of their arrow-like shape.
When juvenile, these plants will grow in a more bush-like formation. When they get older, it will start to vine, hence the name arrowhead vine. How fast this plant vines depends on the subspecies of the Syngonium.
Syngonium can handle irregular watering and will give you signals when it really needs a drink. They can handle lower amounts of humidity, but the variegated specimens will require at least 50% to keep those lovely variegations. They prefer lots of indirect sunlight and will grow rapidly when they get it. Keep variegated Syngonium away from direct sunlight or the non-green parts will get brown.
The difficulty level on this plant is manageable for beginners, although variegated Syngonium need more than just your basic houseplant care.
